Traffic Alert: Overnight Closure and Traffic Switch at Bayside Blvd

TxDOT will be performing a traffic switch at Bayside Blvd as part of the ongoing US 59 Loop improvement project. To safely complete this work, Bayside Blvd will be temporarily closed overnight while construction crews perform roadway and traffic control improvements.

Road Reopens: Monday, August 3, 2026, at 6:00 AM

Work Being Performed
During the overnight closure, crews will complete several important improvements, including:
Installation of a concrete traffic barrier
New pavement markings
Traffic signal adjustments
Concrete pavement construction
Storm sewer infrastructure improvements
Sidewalk construction
These upgrades are part of the ongoing US 59 Loop project, which is designed to improve roadway safety, traffic flow, and long-term infrastructure in the area.
Detour Information
While Bayside Blvd is closed, motorists should use the following detour route:
Emerald Lake Dr → Great Salt Lake Rd → Lakeview Blvd
Please plan ahead and allow additional travel time if you expect to travel through the area during the overnight closure.
What to Expect After Reopening
Bayside Blvd is scheduled to reopen on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 6:00 AM.
Once reopened, one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction while construction activities continue.
