Traffic Alert: Overnight Closure and Traffic Switch at Bayside Blvd

Construction crews will be performing a traffic switch at Bayside Blvd as part of the ongoing US 59 Loop improvement project. To safely complete this work, Bayside Blvd will be temporarily closed overnight.


Schedule

Closure Begins: Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 8:00 PM

Road Reopens: Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 6:00 AM

Location: Bayside Blvd


Work Being Performed

During the overnight closure, construction crews will complete several improvements, including:

  • Installation of a concrete traffic barrier

  • New pavement markings

  • Traffic signal adjustments

  • Concrete pavement construction

  • Storm sewer infrastructure improvements

  • Sidewalk construction


These upgrades are part of the ongoing US 59 Loop project, which is designed to improve traffic flow, roadway safety, and long-term infrastructure in the area.


Detour Information

While Bayside Blvd is closed, motorists should use the following detour route:


Emerald Lake Dr → Great Salt Lake Rd → Lakeview Blvd


Please allow extra travel time if you plan to travel through the area during the overnight closure.


What to Expect After Reopening

Bayside Blvd is scheduled to reopen on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 6:00 AM.


Once reopened, one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction while construction activities continue in the area.


Safety Reminder

  • Please use caution when traveling near active construction zones.

  • Follow all posted detour signs.

  • Reduce your speed in work zones.

  • Watch for construction crews and equipment.

  • Plan ahead for possible delays during the overnight closure.
